I hear you, but think that your last paragraph is extremely uncertain.


The absolute best way for all this to be normalized is to impeach Trump knowing without any doubt he will be acquitted, and then watching him get re-elected. If that's the result, then Trump is exonerated, and these things we're talking about are confirmed and normalized.

Let's not forget - impeaching and acquitting Clinton had no impact on powerful men doing nasty things to vulnerable women, which is what that was ultimately about.

If Trump is trounced at the ballot box, that is without question the best way for his behavior to be repudiated. Not just his behavior - his dark, nationalist, insular worldview as well.

I think impeachment is pretty much assured at this point. Not sure the dems have left themselves room to back down, even if they agree with my concerns about the gambit. I for one will be holding my breath, because I think the stakes are being raised significantly by impeaching. Unless so much comes out that the repubs decide to rediscover their loyalty to the USA, but that does not appear likely.
