Of course not, but since the vast majority of states that get a say in
national politics, where they would not with the abolition of electoral college (the senate bothers dems almost as much these days), like that, you can't amend the Constitution.
Just like I think ERA should not be blocked on technicalities like time limits, I don't think you can impose your view of the importance (or lack thereof) of regional considerations on so much of the country in this case. That would not be the case of the 3/5 compromise (pushed by anti-slavery forces of course) if it were still in place today. [Post edited by hoolstoptheheels at 02/18/2020 12:13PM]
