She talked about how based on the information coming out of China (and the WHO) they in no way expected this to become what it has, that she thought it would be more like SARS or other regional outbreaks based on that initial reporting. Because they were given no info from China to believe it could so easily be transmitted and done so for such a long time before symptoms show, if they show at all. And she is indeed an expert in the field, so so much for the false narrative that Trump never listens to his experts.

That's why I don't really slam folks like Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, etc for their calling Trump a racist, telling us to celebrate Chinese New Years, etc. other than to point to it as their hypocrisy when arguing more should've been done back then. Everyone is using 20/20 hindsight to claim "see, we should've done such and such on day so and so". We also could've shut down our economy and cost tens in millions in job losses for what we thought at the time would be a much smaller deal. We didn't do those things for SARS, Ebola, H1N1, etc. Nobody at a high level was calling for the steps back then, that they all claim we should've done now.
