It definitely is too much if they aren't capable and that starts at the top
in this case, where loyalty is demanded to abet the lying and corruption. Right now the response from the administration is dissembling and it's reactive. The states are doing what they can but they've basically been left out to dry. You're correct that after this crisis has passed we need to seriously address holes in our healthcare and public health infrastructure. Not to mention addressing again why we have the federal government and what its responsibilities are, rather than saying it should be bigger or it should be smaller. Right now, day to day, that isn't the concern.
