We may know sooner rather than later about that.


In some ways this is shaping up to be a watershed election. The last time this country had an election in such dire times was 1932. The Republican incumbent, Herbert Hoover's response to the Great Depression was almost no response at all. That sounds kind of familiar doesn't it? The difference now being that Hoover never had all of the other baggage that Trump has.

So the point to this is that, the results of the '32 election was catastrophic for the Republicans. It took them a generation to recover and the New Deal changed what government could and should do forever.
