free market conservatives. It seems that those "captains of industry" types were able to subtly use culture war/white identity politics for years to consolidate a voting bloc of uneducated whites behind them and bolster their numbers without actually having to do anything for them other than throw out platitudes about guns and homos and appoint judges to the SCOTUS who vowed to overturn RvW. But sometime around 2015, RubeNet became self aware. It's absolutely a white nationalist party now and there really is no other descriptor for it. Our current GOP is essentially the same thing as various Nativist European parties, but they have a lot more support behind them. And they want nothing to do with bootstraps, laissez faire capitalism, social darwinism, etc. They want a dictatorship of the minority that they believe are the "real Americans", which will beat everyone else into submission. A few of the old "captains of industry" fools still seem to think they can control this Frankenstein monster they created, but they learn more and more every day that they can't.

There is no turning back and hopefully what ends up happening is the GOP just becomes a fringe minority party for the declining demographic of white trasionalists and what is today the Dems ultimately splits off into moderate and progressive counterparts who compete for national elections. I'd like to see today's Republican Party burned entirely to the ground never to return.
