I haven't seen much freakshow and chaos in NYC, but I think I take your point. If it's chaotic, for me it's a beautifully orchestrated type.

I think the freakshows are more associated with a handful of West coast cities, tbh. I'm sure there's plenty in NY if you look, but it's not really jumping out at you from my experiences. Paris was more freaky than NY. I saw a guy take a shit on the subway steps in Paris. That left an image.
