Having a good view of a bustling area and just taking that in for a while. Damn I love that place. There's a bar I used to go to, right in Times Square, an Irish Pub. This was in the days when the strip joints were still right there and not over a block or more away. I went back a few times to the bar and it was still there and they had been moved, lol.

So on one trip I'm talking to the bar tender and he's straight Irish, his family has owned the bar for generations and they move family members over from Ireland to run it. And he's cool as can be, tossing me in a free beer for each 1 I buy, loves my Southern accent and hearing about Virginia. This other cat walks in from Queens and he's teaching me all about off track betting and his techniques. Others come and go and all have stories of the big city and all are friendly and just want to talk to someone from Virginia. It was cool. I was 21 on that first visit.

Then I went next door to the strip joint after about 10-12 beers and a stripper in there bought me a drink, instead of the other way around, lol. I'd probably be asleep in the Irish bar after 6 now.
