about tribalism and resentments which Trump stokes with gusto. He has no policy thoughts of his own. He's reactive, incompetent and obviously corrupt. Little more than a panhandler and grifter. Trump and Trumpism are a clear and present danger. Unlike previous Republican presidents I'm hard pressed to think of anything he has tried to do that I agree with. Even the ones where I might have some common ground, like beginning negotiations with North Korea or getting our forces out of Afghanistan, have been less that fruitful.

So there's that. And to call it "modern-day McCarthyism" is hyperbolic nonsense. It makes me think that you have no idea who Joe McCarthy was or why McCarthyism has become the well deserved slur that it is.
