I'm sympathetic to those kids for sure, but the fact is we can't make
policy decisions based on individuals' self-motivation (which is often based on bad information). That's the problem with this whole stupid country of ours in a nutshell, starting at the top.
On the flipside, how would you feel if hundreds of kids get infected by playing a game that sees 50+ sweaty, huffing and puffing kids in a locker room followed by hours of tackling each other and personally scrumming in each other faces (which in all likelihood will happen)? Especially when some number of those kids end up with lasting lung or other damage that destroys their athletic careers entirely or, worse yet, kills them?
How about when they go home and share the virus with their parents?
So many things that can go wrong and hard to see any football team not having this thing run through them like wildfire once one player gets it.
