What i think i'm seeing is that a legal restraint (if done properly) could result in an accidental death if someone also has the issues that the report says that Floyd had at the time of his struggle to resist arrest and subsequent restraint. That's why the trial matters and that's why experts testimonies will matter. Was the restraint done appropriately. Are the trained to not use this restraint if they recognize the effects of drugs on this person. Could you even recognize if the person was under the influence of meth and fentanyl. If he violated a lot of protocol or did the restraint wrong, he's probably toast. If he did it all exactly as he was trained and they were not aware of the near lethal combination he ingested, then he may get off. But what everyone was saying all along was that he was suffocated to death by a knee to his neck and that killed him. And that is now clearly not the truth.
