The misinformation on their platforms has had deadly consequences in parts of the world, possibly including here. I think they very much want to avoid being considered “at fault” for violence here around Election Day because people are buying baseless bullshit.

These platforms want to make money. This is not about thumbing political scales IMO, to the extent that’s your suspicion.
