I'll tell you what. Let's agree to the following, and we can...

...just leave it there. I'll plagiarize from the scenarios you laid out before and add a few clarifications:

1) Ballots arrive prior to election day? Count them, but only if they have indisputable ID verification -- e.g., signature match -- as you said below in #4. If they don't, and they can't be affirmatively verified by speaking with the voter in question, then they are tossed. None of the hanging chad bullshit.

2) Ballots arrive after election day? As long as they are postmarked no later than election day or came from a dropbox. Count them, but only if the state laws on the books allow for ballots RECEIVED after Election Day to be counted. If the law -- not a judge -- says that they must be received on or prior to ED, then any coming in after that get tossed. Also, any deadline specified in the law -- not by a judge -- must be adhered to. There will be no extension of that deadline for any reason.

3) Ballots arrive after election day with no postmark or a smudged postmark? These are rejected.

4) Ballots don't have a signature or have a signature mismatch? Reject them. But maybe not permanently. You can go down in person and vouch for it. If they can't be verified, they are tossed.
