That is a bit too simplistic a view of things


Rs tried their level best to use Pelosi, Schumer, and AOC as red meat for their base and labile conservatives.

The extreme edge of the GOP is POTUS, himself. That's no fringe; that the core of the party, by definition, the party did and continues to do precious little to distance themselves from it. And when they inevitably do, why should anyone believe them?
