running up a huge deficit during an economic growth period but during a national emergency it's suddenly problem #1? Why is the spending plan predicated on making sure we dole out cash to corporations but not to strapped state governments or directly to workers themselves? Why is the priority to make sure that money flows mostly to the wealthy?

It's not like we've been the most financially responsible people. But the fake hand-wringing while people are in dire straits makes me sick.
