I did not know about the extent of Hank Aaron's challenges


It's thought in the year leading up to his homerun record that he received more mail in one year than anyone in the history of this country. And more than 1/2 of it was hate mail. Like many other black leaders, he was labeled as communist/socialist by a lot of people (much like MLK Jr in his time and BLM now) and called even worse things, yet the guy never really complained about all that he was going through, which included his family needing armed guards because of the death threats. What an amazing baseball player and even better human being. Godspeed.
