be in their "Ranger Hall of Fame" yet some people seem to think that its some massive lie that he called himself a ranger. So the US Army Ranger Association (whose membership is composed of rangers) is ok to stretch who is a ranger, but Cotton is a abject liar if he says he is a ranger. Or maybe there is a lot more leeway here than some political hack wants to imply and calling him a liar based on that is clearly political gamesmanship.

We can play silly political word games games around whether a guy who honorably served in a war zone, went to ranger school, earned the right to wear a tab on his uniform that said "RANGER" had the audacity to say he was a ranger. Or we can talk about real policy positions, ideas, etc, actual meaningful stuff. Plenty of legitimate reasons to disagree with or criticize Cotton, but this does not appear to be one of them. Its a distraction from things that actually matter.

To me, this seems like such unimportant stuff and is much more indicative of the huge, idiotic gotcha nature of our politics that encourages people to vilify the "others" all the time.
