I'm not sure what you think Trump did that was so extraordinary on


vaccines. He committed to purchasing vaccines. Do you REALLY think there is anyone as president who would NOT have committed to purchasing a vaccine for Covid? But yes, I suppose Trump should be commended for not being the biggest retard in the history of the world and refusing to commit to vaccine purchases during a pandemic. Yeah Trump. He's not a total retard!!!

Pfizer specifically didn't take any operation warp speed money. Why did they not do so? Because in their own words Pfizer wanted to "ensure researchers were able to focus on "scientific challenges" exclusively, and allow the company to pursue a potential vaccine candidate without pressures that accompany outside intervention or oversight". I wonder what outside intervention they were worried about?

But the biggest harm Trump did by far was to turn Covid and masks into a cultural war which has doubtlessly made it far more difficult to get people to act responsibly and is why you have states like South Dakota with the 46th lowest population density acheving the 2nd highest cases per capita and 8th highest deaths per capita. Trump got a pretty solid assist from the governor on that accomplishment.

Trump failed epically on the primary job of the president during crisis... and that is to provide predictable, steady leadership.
