president in the history of this country would have worked to secure PPE and ventilators. But congrats, the president didn't shut down the basic functioning of the government during a pandemic. Hurray for Trump.

And again, I'm sure Pfizer wouldn't have developed a vaccine with a market of billions of people had the US not agreed to buy the vaccine. It's a miracle any drug ever gets developed. Without a purchase guarantee, who would be crazy enough to develop a drug with a market for billions. Oh yeah, that's right, pretty much every drug in the history of pharmaceuticals. Your premise that we wouldn't have the Pfizer vaccine if not for the US gov't agreeing in advance to buy it is braindead even by your standards.

And I'll repeat it again, much of the president's role during a time of crisis is calm, steady, reassuring leadership... not denying the crisis, downplaying the crisis, mocking things that would help reduce the crisis, babbling incoherently while talking out of his ass, etc. Imagine if after 9/11 Bush went on TV and said the deaths from 9/11 were overstated, it's no worse than any other terrorist attack, this was just the democrats trying to get him, we'll forget about 9/11 in a few months, and enhanced security procedures at airports are ineffective and make you look foolish. That would have been awesome.
