Probably not. I think there is some gray here. I don’t think Gruden

Expressed belief in an ideology that was the responsible for the wholesale murder of 10s of millions of people. As I understand it, he expressed opinions about gay players, female refs, and kneeling players for anthems that would have been more or less mainstream for much of the time Gruden has been involved with the NFL - probably as recently as his SB win with Tampa Bay.

So the analogy isn’t valid. If the private emails said “I think we should exterminate all gay people!”, I don’t think any of us would be lamenting his exit, even if he intended it to be private.

People are not simply their worst or most politically incorrect moments. They are much more than that. Gruden has a robust track record in the public eye, so it’s not as though there isn’t a whole lot more than just these emails to go by.
