It’s a good question that I’ve been wondering about myself. I think I sort

Of act like the pandemic is over, with a few exceptions - in stores I wear a mask in case I have the bug and don’t know it. Although I’m not doing that at work, which is kind of inconsistent. But I’ll go out to dinner, go to events (to the extent that I really go to events anymore), get on planes and trains - pretty much anything I’d do before. I’m vaxxed and boosted and there should be some upside to that. Only thing I will say is I’m not eager to get on long flights where I have to wear a mask the whole time - I’m hoping that won’t last too much longer.

I look at my sister who is understandably a little fucked up over the pandemic because of tragedies hitting very close to home, but she is vaxxed and boosted and still locked away like March of 2020, which I don’t understand, but I try not to judge.

I guess I’m not sure we’ll all declare an end at the same time. Germaphobes or people with a little post pandemic traumatic stress might take a bit longer. I assume that if we get through flu season up north without hospital crushes and mortality rates like in spring 2020 and the following fall/winter, crisis mode recedes. Especially if it is not followed by a terrible season down south in the hotter weather.

It will be helpful if Omicron turns out to be less deadly than prior strains, which seems to be a possibility at least.
