And my point is that we started down that "slippery slope" over a decade
ago with smokers and amazingly the world hasn't come to an end. Just as an unvaxxed person might not get COVID, a smoker might not get lung cancer.
Yes, the discussion could always evolve to similar "solutions" for obesity, etc., but with the smoking policy already out there, I'm not sure doing something similar with COVID is going to be the tipping point that pushes us over the cliff.
To be clear, I'm not arguing higher health insurance premiums for unvaxxed is the best answer, but think it is one option to consider.
The BEST answer, BY FAR, would be for right-wing propagandists and grifters to stop lying to their followers about vaccines. That would solve the root cause of the problem and we wouldn't have to have these discussions about "stick" measures/mandates at all because the voluntary vaccine rate wouldn't be dragged down by people who refuse to get vaccinated because they believe the misinformation spewed by the propagandists and grifters.
