I would argue that’s all a matter of perspective

The reality is the world is filled with nuance, with shades of gray. There are Republicans who would characterize January 6th as peaceful normal tourists, so to argue that Democrats are to blame for a lack of nuanced understanding seems fairly biased (although that’s not to say the Democrats aren’t without blame). The reality is nuance generally does not help with electability of politicians or ratings for the news networks, it’s much easier to just blame the other party/political ideology after the fact. And depending on your perspective, it’s often much more convenient to blame those who disagree with your beliefs than holding those you do accountable
