Lots of damage, collateral and otherwise, from the Big Lie.

As often noted, those killed on 1/6/21 or as a result of the attack would most likely still be with us. Then of course there are the many Capitol Police who were injured physically and emotionally. As a nation, the damage to the fabric of democracy may well be the biggest loss.

Not that I have much sympathy for them, but the hundreds of insurrectionists would not have been there but for the Big Lie. They would not have been jailed. Many of them would not have lost their jobs or their families. The FBI and the courts would not have had to spend so much effort and money to prosecute these hundreds of cases.

This was ALL because one man continued to push a lie regardless of who it might affect and ONLY to soothe his own fragile ego. A more convincing set of facts to establish culpability isn't possible.
