It appears he did.
From Whitehouse.gov
"Look, how would you feel if you saw crowds storm and break down the doors of the British Parliament, kill five cops, injure 145 — or the German Bundestag or the Italian Parliament? I think you’d wonder."
I do think Biden and others should be more careful with their words on stuff like this. Jan 6 was a huge stain on our country for many reasons, including the ~140 officers who were injured. No need to embellish and then give people like JM the out to deflect and downplay the situation by claiming "fake news". Describe it for what it is. A sitting president of the United States lied non stop about a stolen election. On the day of the riot he gave a speech which included the following just unbelievable statements. And his supporters "fought like hell" to "stop the steal" that day.
"All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats, which is what they're doing."
"You don't concede when there's theft involved"
"We will stop the steal. Today I will lay out just some of the evidence proving that we won this election and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election." [Still waiting on any evidence]
"The states got defrauded. "
"Democrats attempted the most brazen and outrageous election theft and there's never been anything like this. So pure theft in American history. Everybody knows it."
"We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore"
And 30% of the country defends this. Just fucking unbelievable.
One final point. I would give him leeway on claiming 1 death. According to the autopsy report, Sicknick died of natural causes. But also according to the coroner who did the autopsy, "All that transpired played a role in his condition,". He collapsed in the office after defending the capitol from a riot and died the next day. Seems like quite a coincidence to me.
