Women with money will go out of state, out of the country if necessary.
But women with money account for a small fraction of abortions.
Women without money will try to go out of state but often settle for “back alley” procedures that put their lives at much higher risk. We already lived this reality pre-Roe. It was not good.
Also it’s interesting that abortion rates are lower than than they were pre-Roe. (There was a surge in reported abortions in the decade or so after Roe but it’s been trending down for a generation.) Access to contraception and health care has a LOT to do with that.
The cruel twist in all of this is that the simultaneous attacks on access to contraception and affordable healthcare by the very same pro-life crowd going after abortion rights could very well trigger an increase in abortions. A shit ton of historical evidence strongly suggests women won’t carry unwanted pregnancies to term just because Roe is tossed and restrictive laws put in place. Believing banning abortion will “save babies” is not a fact-based judgment. And without access to safe abortions we’ll probably just wind up with a few hundred more dead women annually, too, in addition to the fetuses that will be aborted no matter what.
Lastly you should re-read your posts. You state that it’s your belief a fetus is another person, separate from the mother. But that’s also not a fact-based judgment. That’s your belief…you say so yourself… based on your own value system. Well, guess what? Other people have different beliefs, different values. Why do you think it’s your place to impose your beliefs and values on other people? Don’t like abortion? Don’t get one. Don’t agree with someone else’s decision to get one? Mind your own fucking business.
