Boards of directors represent shareholders, not Democrats who...


...have been hoisted politically by their own petard. BoDs are there to help maximize the stock price for the business' owners, period. If they think the stock represents a good deal at current levels, then they can invest in it with stock buybacks. If instead they think the better investment is in the company's underlying growth, then leaving funds in equity for future capex might be a better option.

When a regime, however, is running down fossil fuels, demonizing those who produce it and has a stated goal of replacing it, then it should come as no surprise when those policies have a negative effect on reinvestment and production. To the extent inflation results, the Dems have no one to blame but themselves, so of course they'll blame everyone else.
