Yes- and it is usually the shareholders asking them to return the capital


so they can put it into something else (management often prefers to spend / acquire).

it could also a signal that management/the Board feels like the shares are undervalued and buying them back represents a good investment.

LAH isn't completely wrong about what's going on. Shareholders have been asking for capital back. And our Govt's position almost certainly has something to do with it (along with the secular trends and a few other factors).
