Whichever cherry picked date paints the preferred picture. Duh! :-)
Actually I think looking back to election day is valid, because it shows what the market thinks about the results in terms of optimism going forward. Even if that optimism is based on higher Govco spending than had the results been different. Unfortunately in this case it doesn't make the picture that much better, especially considering we didn't even have a vaccine yet at this point.
Regardless, 16 months after inauguration, when we were just starting to roll out vaccines, much of the opening up was left to come, many schools were still virtual, UE was 6.4, etc. and here we are.
