They intended only a big show on Saturday. They launched a layered attack designed to come in waves. It was Wesley Clark, I believe, who said he thinks they fired every missile they have capable of reaching Israel.

I think they miscalculated their own abilities. They did not intend for around 50% of their missiles to self implode. I think they, and most of us, completely underestimated the effectiveness of the global coalition we coordinated, which is the only reason Israel suffered no damage.

Mostly, I don’t agree that this past week has made a new agreement more likely. I think all parties are less likely to enter such an effort for the time being.
