I should introduce you to my sister. You guys agree on this.

I think your stats may be too high level - if O got say 10% of all rural white voters with less than a college degree, but 85% to 95% were in IA, OH, PA, MI, and WI, and Hill lost most of that vote, then it played an important role in the Trump win.

More importantly, I don't think the phenomenon is confined to rural white voters. Other parts of the dem base are also vulnerable to this economic shift that makes life much more difficult for the less educated. But it seems to me that the portion of the dem base that is better educated really resists accepting that.

At least in the case of my very well educated sister, it's because her only true goal is to scream at the deplorables. I think it's a very big mistake.
