H1-B is one of the biggest no-brainers around.


They are smart and driven, they are far likelier than Americans to start their own firms (growing the pie, rather than just taking a slice), and they have skills that too few Americans possess to saturate STEM jobs. Unemployment is less than 5% right now, and the unemployment rate for Americans with STEM degrees is less than half of that. They're not taking anyone's jobs who unless the people who are being replaced aren't remotely qualified for their positions.

The Libertarians on this board are the quickest to resort to protectionism. Where is our old buddy capwater these days?
