I was going to just post some questions and thoughts on the budget

This first Trump budget is going to be very interesting along with Health Care reform.

IMHO, Trump and Congress have to put together a budget and finalize health care reform by Oct 1, 2017without any long term continuing resolutions.

I will be very interested in what the CBO says about both.

The article you linked has this quote:

To achieve balance, the plan by White House budget director Mick Mulvaney relies on optimistic estimates of economic growth, and the surge in revenues that would result, while abandoning Trump’s promise of a “massive tax cut.”

IMHO, this is the old "Trickle down economy" approach which unfortunately I believe never happens. Give companies double digit tax breaks and I doubt any of that will go to the employees in wage or benefit increases. I am fortunate enough that any changes I will be fine.

There is about 4.5 more months to complete this, but my guess right now this budget and health care reform as is will not pass the Senate. I expect the CBO numbers not to be good which even will make it harder to pass both.

Trump needs to focus on these two things or he will see his support from his party erode because after Oct 1, 2017 the party is going into 2018 campaign mode.
