statement /= ok with destroying population centers (which is what it would mean). I doubt many are ok with the tactic killing civilians. For that mater, I doubt Trump even knew what he was advocating. It just sounds like "take the gloves off vs ISIS" to many. Unless the polling question on carpet bombing mentioned civilian casualties, you're stretching to equate it with support for suicide bombings.

Either that, or you're using it as a reason to discount polling itself, and there's some truth there.

But what we can't ignore are outcomes. There are many atrocities being committed in the name of Islam on what seems like a daily basis (beyond the publicized attacks on western targets like Manchester, there are far more across the globe), and groups carrying out the horrible acts do have support.

While blaming the religion clearly isn't right, it is fair to say there is a significant problem within its ranks. As you note in your post below, a contributing factor is that Islam has mixed into the politics of many regions.
