I bet it does resonate with more repubs than most of us know.
Clearly, there is some pretty sizable % of the country who will follow Trump anywhere and everywhere, and will kneejerk against this as just mindless anti-Trump bias. The people with whom Trump's populist messages really resonate.
But there are a whole lot of repubs who won't be changing behavior anytime soon - like all pols they are mostly concerned with political self preservation - but who I bet do struggle with the Don's presidency. And those folks will turn on a dime if they come to the conclusion that opposing the Don is better for them politically.
And the dems have some input into that. The repubs resisting this Bannon insurgency have something to say about that. If they can win enough elections to show that alignment with Trump comes with risks to political health, they'll fall over themselves lining up behind messages like this.
