Interesting post. I just think Moore is out of bounds.
What's interesting to me is I really think the dems were trying to answer your point by unanimously turning on Franken. It struck me that if Franken remained in the senate, the dems would have no legs to stand on in calling for Moore to be expelled. That obstacle at least is removed.
Overall I don't disagree that we don't have to love the candidates we support. But I do see limits on what's acceptable. Trump lost in a close one in MN. Not a slam dunk Franken will be replaced by a dem.
I happen to believe that Trump and Bannon are normalizing terrible behavior - things that are unethical - in ways that put a spotlight on our basic assumptions about morality. 30 year olds on the hunt for teenagers - brother, regardless of the politics, nobody should vote for him. I look you in the virtual eye and promise you that under no circumstances would I vote for Roy Moore, regardless of my feelings about his politics. Or his opponents.
Sometimes, decency trumps all. And not often - really, not ever in the world before Bannonism. I'm not talking about DWI here. We're talking about something where you'd be mincing words with me if I called it pedophilia.
That's my point - at one time, that would have been unimaginable. You're talking about it like it's normal.
