Actually, it isn't my top issue. More economically driven.
But, I do take issue with those who just advocate abortion at any time for any reason. Obviously, consideration needs to be given in the case of rape or incest.
But, abortion for convenience and/or birth control is a selfish act, in my humble opinion. Almost any level of responsibility can make that situation a moot point.
My comment regarding science specifically refers to those who claim it is their choice to end the life of a fetus when it is a viable life. Modern science has shown that can be as early as 20 weeks (I think), although I am open to considering contrary evidence. I just think that at the point life is viable, it has rights. It just doesn't have the ability to express them. I have a difficult time reconciling that versus a woman claiming it is her right to end that life because she doesn't want it.
I wish we could, as a civilized people, have an honest discussion about this without the sanctimony of both sides. The extremes of both sides make me a bit sad.
