You are the one who keeps claiming that corporate taxes are passed on
directly to consumers, not me. Your argument has jumped to several different places, none of which make much sense and all of which ignore basic economics.
For one, corporations do not "collect" money from consumers. Those that transact with consumers sell them goods or services at a market price. While the amount of taxes may affect the bottom line and can get to the point where cost is prohibitive, in terms of the market that price is what it is whether the corporation pays a lot in taxes or nothing at all. That is why competitive markets are relevant and render your point silly and simplistic. The best you can do here is claim that all companies paying taxes works collectively to inflate the price, but good luck proving that (complicated by the fact that most companies pay vastly different amounts in taxes).
For two, not all corporations even transact with consumers. Some contract with the government, some with foreign governments, and many just with other businesses. So again, the argument that their paying taxes gets passed onto consumer is just not true.
Anyways, not sure why I got sucked into this argument but carry on. Go Hoos indeed (former player or just an enthusiast?) [Post edited by WahooRQ at 12/14/2017 2:15PM]
