IMO anyway. And $20 a week is $1000 a year which is not peanuts to many people essentially living paychek to paycheck - and frankly I'm not sure where your estimate of that amount comes from, or what historical precedent tells you what level of weekly pay increase people do or don't pay attention to.

And while I agree that this is the mother of all swamp initiatives, and frankly, that hardcore Trumpies who wanted to jail Hillary but have no objections to Trump's complete absence of tax transparency when signing this bill (and yeah, the carried interest probably benefits him bigly) are supreme hypocrites, I don't think that will resonate with voters when they are seeing their pay go up. And I think we were probably in for a strong economic year next year with or without this bill, so people will IMO likely credit the tax package for that.

In short, if I were a dem strategist, I'd probably be looking for ways to downplay this bill in the mid terms, unless some of the likely unintended consequences show up quickly. Because I think the main thing people will focus on in 2018 is higher net pay.
