It was a reaction to the new tell all book. At least IM strong O

First he tweeted about how smart and stable he is. Then he held a presser to tell us all about his stellar education and all the billions he made (but won't provide any transparency on), and then he brought the cameras into a meeting for the first time so he could actually show us all how stable and wonderful he is, like a good reality TV guy.

But here's the thing - real good may come of this. I don't think we should celebrate until its done, because Congress and the pres could easily snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but it's a start.

The whole thing has me thinking. I played a little thought game with my sister, who is a stereotypical dem Trump hater, at the beginning of last year. What would she do in four years if, for example, women made great strides in terms of equal pay, for whatever reason, during Trump's first term, in spite of what a neanderthal Trump is? Do we care if he is a boorish cad if for whatever reason women's rights are in fact being advanced?

Interesting where we are today. Wasn't anything in particular that Trump did - more about Harvey Weinstein, but we are seeing something unprecedented going on, and it doesn't look like #timesup is just a temporary condition. I actually think Trump's rep with women is helping to drive the urgency now among women, and many men.

Trump may be reacting like a 2 year old to a book he'd probably be better off ignoring, but this meeting yesterday was IMO a direct result of it, and could produce real bipartisan progress. Like, an actual compromise!

It's all food for thought, especially if 2020 is Trump vs Oprah, and the real goal for your vote is to somehow derail the notion that the most important quality for pres is "likable entertainer". The best way to do that, arguably, could be to hold your nose and vote for the asshole incumbent who at least has 4 years under his belt, especially if, despite all his childish assholery, things are in fact getting better in ways we never imagined.

There's a lot of ground to cover between now and 2020, so who knows, but these are interesting times, if nothing else.
