I think this is a really good question and observation.

I honestly believe that no one in the media or in the government thinks he has any credibility. This includes government and media on the left, right and center. They realize that he pretty much just says whatever is on his mind on that particular day and time and there's no expectation that there will be follow-through once he returns to his three televisions and is prodded by his handlers later.

I also believe, as others have pointed out in this thread, that this is how low the bar now is. His supporters are questioning why there is no reporting on him having a meeting that did not really have any consistent theme other than he wants to get a win on something to temporarily keep the wolves at bay. We have completely forgotten how a president and his team is supposed to act and work. These meetings used to be bi-weekly events that never warranted attention.

The administration really is a mess. There are unfilled holes everywhere and no coherent message driving the administration other than breaking down whatever the previous administration set up. This combines to cause more disconnection and disorganization and the failure of leadership leads to the establishment and evolution of various factions within it.

The media is very organized right now in that they are either focused on finding positives in every little thing that happens, finding negatives in everything or researching compelling stories that matter. It all gets jumbled together through whatever prism people use to take in their news. And because the administration is so disorganized, it's able to be used by everyone as a tool. It is only reactive and there is no proactivity. Zero credibility, zero leadership and low standards are why no one cares about whatever went down yesterday.
