Majority minority districts are fruit of two-wrongs-make-a-right thought.

Mathematically speaking, you cannot concentrate one class of voter in some districts without inherently concentrating other classes of voters in the remaining districts.

The above is all true, but it doesn't contradict the fact that GOP driven redistricting has sought to exacerbate the issue for their own gain. The VRA is, because gerrymandering used to occur such that minority voters were deliberately diluted across multiple districts so as to never obain majority voice. Luckily, we live in a world where there can be a middle ground with reasonable district boundaries that make logical sense. If only we had reasonable politicians that were able to follow honest logic!
