How often do we talk about mental health as a national problem outside of a major shooting? We should. A lot of people have committed suicide because of mental health issues. But suicides don't get national press.

Though if you want to talk suicide and guns and mental health, you can look to Australia, where getting rid of guns significantly reduced suicides. Yet 2A supporters use that as evidence getting rid of guns doesn't statistically prove a reduction in murders, as if reducing suicide deaths don't matter.

There is a stigma to people being on anti-anxiety or anti-depressant meds. That's a problem. But the only time we talk about mental health is in the context of mass shootings, and that really doesn't help change the perception that almost 1 in 5 adults have some sort of a mental health issue in a given year.
