when we gerrymander the eff out of our congressional districts (and consume cable news, and believe the garbage that makes into our news feeds- often in meme format no less).

first and foremost, we need to address the districting challenge- we are in a really, really bad place right now. we will have a good bit of midterm turnover (we usually do with first-term presidents), but the underlying problems will persist until we take meaningful steps.

I really don't care if the donald slept with a pornstar or playmate. I don't really care what he tweets at this point (we all know he's an asshole, no new info there). What I do care about are our priorities and policy-making- and our congressmen and women have shown they won't or can't craft sound policy. I still don't understand how we can have single digit approval ratings for the body as a whole, and re-elect them at the rate we do. I haven't voted for the D representing my district in years (just on principle at this point, I don't even find him that bad... nothing like the rep we had before the last redistricting...).
