I hear you, but this is instructive.
People like to attribute mostly political motives to the media. The media even likes to do it to each other. But really, it is all about ratings. All about dollars and cents. You find your way into the echo chamber and you figure out how the monetize it.
So, do you want network execs to feel remorseful for doing their job? They're giving their markets what they want. Point your finger at the market, not the vendors who just deliver what it wants.
I take Fox for what it is, but I think the left over-demonizes them just as FOX over-demonizes CNN (without whose total focus on Trump in the primaries, we might not even be dealing with this populist nationalist nonsense).
If we want this stuff to change, we, the news consuming market, are the ones who can do it. Nobody else can, unless some populist ultimately succeeds in destroying the Constitution. Then, one side will be squelched. Keep using that phrase "fake news" if we want to help that process along.
