If we opened up legal immigration, it would undercut the need to try
sneaking in. In which case focusing on border enforcement would be more about stopping drug trade, and trafficking.
But the border enforcement issue is belied by the anti-immigrant rhetoric wedded to it.
I'm not saying that everyone who seeks entry is an angel. They're just people. There are probably undesirable elements in proportion to those in any group. But I will generally take those who want to be American. And focusing on prioritizing families makes sense if that's a concern. Plus, we need the population.
