Our government IS doing something malicious and inhumane— that’s the point

You seem to miss. There is a deliberate calculus behind it: show the “illegals” we mean business and will treat them like animals when they try to come here, to deter them. And, of course, the real show is for Trump’s disgusting, low-information, bigot base who is convinced there is some invading horde of violent criminals pouring across the border that we must employ these types of extreme, cruel, ruthless measures —even stooping to mistreating little kids — to stop. Basically convince these rubes who live in all white areas and have never even seen an immigrant that we are at war, war is hell, but no more Me. nice Guy. Sad thing is, it’s all Machiavellian bullshit and shows just how low these fucks will stoop. And what Republican voters are not only willing to tolerate, but WANT ....which helps explain why a deplorable piece of garbage like Donald Trump is our president.
