No, WE have been rationalizing.
At first it was just a matter of being "presidential". Then there was the idea that with experience he would grow into the office. When all those presumptions and much more were proven obviously wrong, the notion was that surely a sizable proportion of the support would peel away, turned off by the lies, unmet promises, and sheer failure to perform even the most basic requirements of the office. In view of all of this, it clear that Donald's support is so solid, not despite all of this but rather BECAUSE of it.
These people continue to be an amen corner to the Trump Administration, because it embodies who they are and the America THEY want to see come to pass. Therefore, if what they support unconditionally is fascist, racist, or anti-democratic, then as the shoe fits, they must wear it. [Post edited by Chuck Taylor at 07/17/2019 10:31AM]
