Which is this fear, stated as a fact, that Medicare for all or any other single payer system would cause decline in the quality of healthcare delivered. There’s really no evidence of that. Well certainly a possible outcome, I certainly don’t believe it’s inevitable. The challenges are generally different for physicians than for hospitals. I think the first thing we need to do is not assume static populations or live under the constraints of current insurance frameworks. The number of insurance people would rise considerably in all markets, the amount of health coverage losses that must be built into other pricing would also decline. It’s a fairly complicated equation .
But for example that argument/fear also assumes that there is no role for supplementary health insurance. There’s no reason that has to be true.
