I read a NYT editorial yesterday claiming that the uber-wokeness of the dem party is dramatically overstated, based on the abject failure in the race so far of the super-woke (like Beto and Gillebrand), and all the non-white candidates, for whatever reason. The gay candidate is doing well because of his evenness and moderation, in spite of his inexperience, and not at all because of his sexual preference.

And the candidates of "free giveaways", like college tuition, have an avid fan base that appears to have a ceiling. So, the repubs want to characterize the dem party in a certain way, but the campaign so far doesn't track with it.
